This second issue of AutoRicerca, entirely in Italian, is devoted entirely to the topic of quantum physics, with two articles written by Diederik Aerts and Massimiliano Sassoli de Bianchi. As Sara Chessa explains in the preface, the content that these two authors offer readers in this volume shares a fundamental observation: all past scientific revolutions have required us to change some of our deeply rooted beliefs about the nature of reality, and only when we dared to take a step towards overcoming them, renouncing the reassuring power that the past conferred on them, did we realize that these beliefs were, in the final analysis, prejudices.

The ship that these two scholars build—to explore in a direction that is stubbornly contrary to prejudice itself—allows readers who embark with them to recover an innate characteristic of human beings, namely the spontaneous instinct to discover the unknown, the natural—perhaps forgotten, but natural—vocation to seek a knowledge of reality that is deeper than that acquired up to the present.
