Punto di svolta
This twenty-sixth issue—entirely in Italian—is devoted entirely to the theme of energy transition, degrowth, and the current global systemic crisis. The title of the volume deliberately echoes the title of the second essay published in the 1980s by physicist and systems theorist Fritjof Capra. In his text, Capra drew a parallel between the crisis of Newtonian physics, the product of deterministic and reductionist thinking, which was challenged in the early decades of the last century by developments in new physics (relativity and quantum mechanics), and the inability of contemporary societies to cope with systemic and global problems, such as economic and ecological ones, precisely because, as was the case with physics, they struggle to abandon an exclusively reductionist approach to problem solving and embrace a holistic vision, which is undoubtedly necessary to address current ecological and social challenges.
